Ok, so you’ve got new service with your internet service provider. You’re having trouble installing equipment, or maybe you didnt want to get it from them because they are overly expensive on charging you and decided to get your own equipment. The internet service provider is not being very helpful because of long hold times and you’re being transferred to another country where its almost impossible to carry on a conversation in English when trying to get help. We’ve all been there. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve been to a customer’s house expecting them to have a router for their dsl connection, and instead they only have a switch. Although they both may look the same, a switch will not authenticate you via your ISP and route internet traffic accordingly as a router does. A switch merely passes traffic to several computer systems on a network. It wont know where to direct traffic without the router being there. The switch is usually placed right after the router in a physical connection. Stuff like this happens. Hey, we’re not all computer experts. If you already have a network setup but the network is not communicating together as it should, we can help. We deal with anything from wireless routers to hardware firewalls. We’ll do what it takes to keep you connected.
